[Seeing Lloyd again always brings out too many emotions for Kratos' own liking, especially given everything. On the one hand, he's happy to see his son; on the other hand, his son should hate his guts and not be this welcoming. Kindness is the absolute last thing Kratos deserves.
Even if part of him really is happy to be greeted like this.
Those thoughts get pushed to the side as Lloyd beckons him inside and so he does. As he walks in, he also finally speaks up.]
How’re you settling in so far?
[The smallest hint of awkwardness is present in that. No only is he bad with small talk, but it's still odd to simply chat with Lloyd. Not bad, just odd.]
[It's weird for Lloyd, too. At no point in his memories with Kratos does he remember just talking with him like any other guy in town about regular stuff. ...If you call being pulled into a bottle and waking up in a pirate world regular.]
Okay, I guess? I'm not really sure what I should be doing. It's not like back home where it's really easy to spot a problem or something.
They do have a quest board of sorts available here called the Manta Board. Perhaps looking at that can give you ideas about how to go about spending your time.
[The amount of quests available is fairly decent, so Lloyd may find something that suits him. Whether or not the quest will keep his interest, however, is the real question.]
[Watching Lloyd almost leave ends up mildly amusing, enough so for Kratos to quirk a brow and wonder if a reminder about their chat's purpose might be necessary. Luckily, the boy catches himself before actually stepping foot outside the door.]
So it looks like my initial hypothesis had been correct about that. This world is capable of pulling in individuals who not only are from different worlds but different points in time in their worlds, as well.
[It's admittedly a tad annoying to have to deal with this sort of thing, but it also beats potentially actually having memory issues.]
In other words, I don't have memory-loss; I'm from a point in time that has yet to experience some of the events that you have.
[...As much out there as that logic is, Kratos half expected Lloyd to say something of this nature. Leave it to the boy to draw conclusions like this. How could a person have forgotten something they never experienced to begin with?
Any commentary on that gets pushed to side at the question. Kratos shakes his head.]
No, unfortunately. There's no known reason why this happens, simply that it does.
[Not an ideal answer, but at least it's an answer. He folds his arms over his chest as he continues speaking.]
And if you recall, I had mentioned being in a different world prior to this one. The same thing occurred there, as well.
[There's a small eyebrow quirk at that. The small stutter says otherwise, but Kratos makes no comment.
The question makes him pause before giving a response. Does he mention who really was there? Does he not? If Lloyd presses, he supposes there's no point to not be up front about it. Them discussing time discrepancies will make that reveal seem believable as opposed to making Kratos seem insane at least.]
No, I hadn't. It was just myself and one other individual there.

Oh, yeah? That'd be perfect! Where's that?
[But yes, that is always the risk. Even reading the board could be a problem depending on how much is up there. It's got his focus right now, though!]
no subject
[Luckily, the board is in an easy to find location. Maybe Lloyd will find something worth his attention. ...Even if only briefly.]
no subject
[He's probably heard of wherever that is. And can find it.
Lloyd takes two steps toward the door before he realizes that wasn't the purpose of this conversation.]
Oh, right. So what's going on with your memory loss thing?
[That's what he remembers it as, at least.]

Isn't that still like you lost your memory, though? 'Cause I still remember it. You just forgot something you didn't know in the first place.
[It's pretty obvious that this makes total sense to him.]
But that's such a weird thing to do. Do you know why?
[He already has magic and tattoos down; clearly Kratos just always has the answers about everything.]

[Lloyd blushes a little, which speaks for the "I'd totally forgotten it" that he's not admitting verbally.]
Wait, that means you met somebody else from our world, right? Did you run into me there, too?
